In hurumanu 1 we watched a video about Aotearoa history. We had to fill in a work sheet and answer the questions that were on the work sheet and then we had to make a blog post with ten sentences on it.
In 1830 there were 7000 thousand Maori and the population went down to 8 thousand people due to Diseases and wars.

Ka pai Lacie. You have listed lots of interesting facts about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. I like the way that you have written these facts in your own words so that you show your understanding.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the first fact doesn't make sense, and it's also not true! In the late 1830s, the Maori population had dropped from 100,000 to 70,000 to 80,000.
Like you said in another fact, 40 rangatira signed the treaty on Waitangi day, but then a further 460 chiefs signed the treaty as it travelled around Aotearoa, so in total, 500 rangatira signed Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
