Awesome Um Learning Journey

These school holidays I am taking part in the learning journey, This is on every school holidays so your learning can keep getting better and better and you do not forget anything over the school holidays. This time the Learning Journey is about food there are twenty activities and each activity is worth points you can also get two points if you do a quality blog comment on somebody's blog from our Uru manuka cluster group a quality blog comment needs to have an Introduction Thoughtful, Helpful, Positive sentence and a Question that it is five sentences long.

Activity 1. Try and make an alphabetical list of all the foods you can think of! Can you find food for all of the letters in the alphabet? Share your answers on your blog. I made a google slide to share my answers take a look and maybe you could comment on my blog post any food that you can think of for the ones that I do not have any for.

Activity 2. Make a slideshow about how to make a family recipe. Post it to your blog. Take a look at my blog post about how to make hokey pokey:

Activity 3. Would you rather never be able to eat cake again or ice cream again?
I would rather never be able to eat ice cream because I love the cakes my Mum bakes and I also love the Christmas cakes my Gran bakes.

Today Te ara takitini went on a trip to Orana wildlife park. We had fun and each class was one group and we had some parents who volunteered to help out with the school trip. So I decided to make a google slide about some of the animals we have seen we learned lots about all the animals at Orana park Elisabeth our educator told us lots about the animals. when we were looking at the farmyard animals we have seen a couple of bunnys and a couple of guinea pigs and a lliama The roar of a lion can be heard 5 miles away. Here is my google slide:

My next step is to add cool facts about animals.

Times of my day

Time of my life

In class when we do not do numeracy in our numeracy classes we do strand maths in our home base class for strand maths, we have been on learning how to tell the time on an analog clock.  Once everybody had learnt how to tell the time on an analog clock we had to do a google slide of things that happen at certain times during our day. Here is my google slide about what I do during my day!

My next step is to add more times of my day.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post. My next step is to get more Description parts done like maybe I could do one about what pandas do not like to eat or what their enemy animals are.

Do know what I can do to improve the quality of my blog post?

The Kuia and the spider

The Kuia and the Pungawerewere

In class today we looked at a video on youtube of a story called the Kuia & the Spider and then this afternoon the Taki Rua group came to perform a Play about the story. During literacy time we had to retell what we could remember about the story and we could either make a book, Poster, animation or a google slide about what we could remember the story. The play that the Taki Rua group did was funny. Here is my google slide about what I could remember. By the way, Pungawerewere means spider in te Reo Maori and Kuia mean grandmother in te Reo Maori.
