In hurumanu we have been reading different stories in our reading groups, then we had to choose 3 activities off a bingo board that made a bingo 

What is the main idea? What is the passage mostly about? 

The passage is about how they were walking up a hill and then they had to walk to an doctors and then they were looking through the windows and then they had to wait for a lady to come out of her house  before they could go in.

Who walked to the doctors ?

The mother,Hana,Ma,Ramahi and Te Ao

Why they walked to the doctors

Because they needed to talk to her about something that happened to one of the children.

 When did they walk there?

In the early morning and it was miles away from were they lived so they took hours and hours to get there

 What happened?

They had to walk to the doctors so that they could make sure that one of the kids were OK after what happend, I do not know what happened they did not tell us in the story.

Where they walked?

They walked to the doctors so that they could have a quick conversation about something.

The story was about how they walked to the doctors and it was miles and miles away from there house and they started to get hungry so they pulled out the food that they packed.

A Letter to our Sports Hero

 A letter to do our Sports Hero

In Class we have been researching our sports hero and then we had to make a sport hero profile about they, Now we have to write a letter to our sports hero and then post it on our blog. I wrote my letter to Richie Mcaw Here is my letter:

12th March 2021

Kia Ora Richie Mcaw, my name is Lacie. This is my second year as a  student  at Hornby High school,  for the past 3 weeks we have been looking at our sports heroes first off we started to look make a profile for our sports hero and then now we are writing a letter to our sports hero and I thought you were a true sports hero because you won two world cups. I also liked how you started to fly helicopters in 2003.

I really was impressed how you won two world cups for rugby and how you were flying helicopters as a private Pilot in 2003 you really made a big achievement. That is amazing how you played for the All Blacks for 14 years before announcing that you were going to be retiring in 2015. The day you got married to Gemma Flynn was the day my cousin was born 14th January 2017. 

How old were you when you learnt to fly helicopters?

 Nga Tangata Heroes 

last week I was sick so I missed out on some work today in class we were doing a little bit of catch up work instead of getting new tasks when 98% of our class was not done there work from last week.

For my reading group we read a story called The Three Legends, then there was a bingo task board for us to choose 3 tasks off and answer the questions based on the story so here is the task board

I chose to the interesting facts one which is when you have to explain the interesting thing that we learned from the reading and why it stood out for you be specific and reference the text,  The second task I chose was use the 5WS and H (who, what, when,  

where, why, how) to  summarise what you  read, The final task I chose to do was What is the main idea of the text? What is the passage mostly about?

The interesting facts our found in the story was that the first woman's cricket cup was played in 1975 in England and also the men cricket cup was played in 1975 in England both of the New Zealand woman's cricket play there first one day international matches. The five Ws and H is When the woman's world cup was played which was in 1975 where it was it was played in England,What they were playing cricket. The text was mostly about explaining about the cricket cups and talking about the worlds best batsmen and thing like that.

Today during Hurumanu our reading groups had to read different stories the story I read was called the longest walk

 Which was when 2 young kids and there parents walked from the top of the north island to the bottom of the south island except when part of the track ended up being a river so they got a Kayak to paddle part of the way and then walked the rest of the way the little girl got upset because when they had to walk down the motorway a stranger gave them a ride from one end of the motorway to the other because it was safer but she wanted to walk the whole way.

Today  I am catching up on some work I haven't done one of them is a 100 word challenge here is the picture that I have to write 100 words abut:

Here my story goes: 

One day my best friend Freddo the ginger cat, chased me  , I got so frightened I ran into my mums favorite mug  and hid in there while I was eating my cheese, Freddo ran around everywhere in the house trying to find me but when he ran past me he accidentally knocked the mug and I went rolling for miles and miles until I finally squirmed my self out of  the mug and ran  out the front door down the street to a place  one it was haunted apparently.
